Stevie was born on June 12,1980 in Derry, New Hampshire at the Alexander Eastman Hospital where two of his mom’s siblings were also born. His Aunt Linda had hoped he would make his appearance on her birthday just one day earlier. Stevie was three months shy of turning three when he, his mom, and his step-dad moved into their first home together in Manchester, NH.

As a child, Stevie’s personality leaned more toward that of an introvert, though he always got along well with others. He began to display artistic flair and meticulous ways at a young age. Even in elementary school his coloring was flawless, his room spotless, and his appearance neat. We jokingly called him Stevie P. Keaton after Alex P. Keaton on Family Ties because he buttoned his shirts all the way to the top, reminiscent of APK’s straight-laced manner of dress.

Stevie attended grades 1-4 in Manchester and grades 5-12 in Brooksville, Florida. He enjoyed success in high school athletics, participating in cross-country track, track and field, and soccer. His coach led him and his teammates to a cross-country Florida State victory in 1996. About one month after graduating from Central High School and turning 18, he headed off to Great Lakes, Illinois for Naval recruit training.

After boot camp, introductory Sonar Tech training, and giving BUDS a shot, the remaining portion of Steve's first four years in the military were spent as a Master at Arms in the Military Police (not the same as Shore Patrol), based in Sasebo, Japan. After signing on for an additional six years of service in 2002, he was transferred to Yokosuka, Japan.  He then resumed/completed Sonar Tech training  in San Diego and served in this capacity until October 2008--first aboard the USS Cushing and then aboard the USS Stethem

In October of 2008, Steve headed to Washington D. C. to begin his new assignment at the Office of Naval Intelligence. He and his wife Mio, daughter Jade, and son Logan live in Centreville, Maryland.

You can find Steve on Facebook.

Cassandra Elaine

Cassie was born on December 5, 1988 in Manchester, New Hampshire at the Elliot Hospital where her dad was also born. Her middle name was given in honor of her paternal grandmother Elaine Mills. She was just 1½ years old when we made the big move from New Hampshire to Florida.

Cassie is our extrovert. She’ll talk to anyone anywhere. When she was barely walking, she'd look at people with an expressive face and talk up a storm--it was, of course, gibberish; but there's no doubt that she was carrying on a conversation in Cassie-speak.  Socializing has always been more important to her than the mundane. She has an outgoing personality and is well liked by all who know her.

Her knack for showboating and fearlessness in front of a crowd was discovered by one of our neighbors in Florida when she was very young, and she was recruited as entertainment for an upcoming community event. After that first performance, she became known as “Little Miss Brookridge.” Nary an event went by without Cass being asked to sing or dance. On one such occasion, while doing a fast-paced tap number, she slipped and fell forward with a thud. Much to the surprise and delight of those watching, she jumped up, put her smile back on, and kept right on dancing!

Cassie's ability to remember most everything she sees, hears, and reads made school a breeze for her. She attended her first year at a private Christian school in Brooksville and 2nd-3rd grades at the same elementary school where her brother had attended. The first half of 4th grade was at a school in Wheat Ridge, Colorado where we lived in a temporary rental following our second big move.

After we purchased a home in the mountains of Bailey, Cassie attended the second half of grade 4 through graduation from Platte Canyon High School in the same school district with the same classmates. Her extra curricular activities included dance, piano, drama, speech, and (wanting to follow in her brother's footsteps) a season of track and field.

The lives of Cass and all those within her school district were forever changed when friend and underclassman Emily Keyes was shot and killed on campus by a deranged gunman who then took his own life. Emily will always be remembered as the brave young lady who, in the midst of terrifying circumstances, text messaged "I love you guys" to her parents.

After graduation in 2007, it was one semester at Metropolitan State College of Denver before deciding to put higher education on the back burner. Much to the delight of her family, Cassie returned to MSCD in the fall of 2008 to pursue a degree in journalism. At the end of her fall '08 semester, she decided to once again change her major--Cass is now working toward becoming an elementary school teacher. In addition to attending college, she works assorted part-time jobs.

Cassie gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Dakota Scott on Cinco de Mayo 2009. Dakota and his mommy
live with his dad Tyler, his grandma Tina, and his Auntie Paige in Littleton.

You can find Cass on MySpace.
